This is how the story goes...we dont have system or storage admin available..I have to create the development environment.

I have 2 Dell 2950 PowerEdgde Servers and 500 GB Buffalo NAS with Windows 2K3 X64 EE, please tell me whether I can install Oracle RAC with this kit.

If yes , how can I configure shared storage and present it to OS so that both nodes can see it.

Please give as much detail as possible, I m ready to read a million pages.

Please help..

How will the storage be "configured"; ASM, raw, or OCFS2?
There is no obvious/correct choice between these 3;
only ugly trade-offs for each of them.

V10 RAC is measurablely better than V9 RAC.
V11 RAC is measurablely better than V10 RAC.

Pick your poison & don't count on getting good, timely or good/correct assistance from any Service Request submitted to Oracle on this topic.

Good Luck & report back when you get it working & in production.
My over/under bet is for 8 weeks.

This is what I had hoped to do until I discovered V10.2 OUI has BUG which prevents adding new nodes to cluster.
I was forced to create raw partitions for these two beasts.

There are NUMEROUS bugs which you'll discover along the way.
Some/many/most are documented by spending hours upon hours on MetaStink.

Other than having to reformat disks & starting over a few times,
it has been a wonderful learning experience.

Remember how many times you fell over when learning to ride a bicycle? Building a cluster is a similar experience.
It can be done, but it takes time & determination to get there.

I completly agree with this. Determination is the word.

Hello,

Can I use Network attached storage (not SAN) for Oracle Cluster Register(OCR) and Voting disk?

Can I Use Oracle Cluster File System (OCFS) or Network File System (NFS) in Windows?

Please help me...

I would go the NFS route if you can - much simpler. With a NAS appliance it 'might' do NFS, but it might be limited to Windows shares and if so, I don't think you can use it to do shared storage to your nodes. Forget about ASM - NFS will work if you have it available to you. There are clear examples of how to do this on OTN.com. Good luck!
